Constipation affects people of all ages, but when it is chronic it can cause pain and discomfort and affect quality of life.
Follow these tips to relieve and prevent constipation: drink plenty of water, eat more fiber, move more, even if it's just walking, use laxatives sparingly, and try to establish a ten-minute period, preferably always at the same time, to defecate.
If constipation is recent and contradicts your bowel habits, consult a doctor. This may be a symptom of a number of diseases that should be treated.
